Profile:

I did not go to art school, but like many other painters attended a variety of art courses, and so would not claim to be self-taught.

I Paint "live" or from photographs which I have taken whenever I have seen something I have come to call "pintabile".

I do not aim to produce exact copies but try to communicate the essential something that makes a scene special - a combination of shape, shadow, colour and light.
