Classical Mosaic - Powered by Captured In Art

My mosaics are executed painstakingly with each individual piece of mosaic, or tessera, cut and shaped to size and fixed onto board, net or tile. The materials used include ceramic tile, recycled china, marble, slate, glass and terracotta. By the very nature of mosaic no two mosaic projects will be identical but it is possible to replicate designs and colour combinations. Mosaic is a flexible medium and can be worked onto many different surfaces, thereby giving endless possibilities for clients' requirements to be met.
	"Tree Of Life" mosaic While the mosaic technique I use is Roman, my subject matter and artistic style are Celtic, reflecting my love of the Celtic heritage that is inextricably bound to the history of the Welsh people. To the Celtic priests, the Druids, the tree of life was the Oak because of its age and the fact that it was the host for mistletoe, their most sacred plant. This is my Tree Of Life: its roots coming from two different directions to signify the diverse cultures in my family - I am Welsh and my husband Arabic; there are seven acorns to celebrate the precious lives of each one of our children with the acorn child pointing towards its own unique and individual pathway for life and death.
